There was nothing that could stop Eric and Hajar from saying “I do” on September 12th, 2020. Between a postponement due to Covid, a Venue change, and rain all day on their new wedding date, they most certainly had their hands full. However, not even the rain could keep them from their glorious outdoor ceremony with their closest family and friends at the Glen Club.
There was nothing 2020 could throw at Hajar and Eric that could stop them from saying “I do”. Between a postponement due to Covid, a Venue change, and rain all day on their new wedding date, they most certainly had their hands full. However, not even the rain could keep them from their glorious outdoor ceremony with their closest family and friends at the Glen Club. This day was all about what really and truly matters. It brought us back to what a wedding truly means. Its ALL about the bride, groom, and what they want most. Those last few minutes leading up to their long anticipated first look and then that walk down the aisle were beautiful. We love the emotion and heart that Eric and Hajar’s day was filled with. NOTHING stops love, friends. …and not only was every moment meaningful, but it was absolutely gorgeous to capture. Special thanks to the outstanding ladies of Exquisite Events & Floral design who kept us all on time and laughing throughout the day! Every part of this celebration was a treat!

It’s official. We are head over heels for intimate backyard weddings. Becca & Peter are incredible. There was nothing that was going to stop these two from getting married and the joy was more beautiful than words can describe. Nothing can stop true love, friends. It was such a treat to capture these two beautiful souls and their closest family members and friends. And does it get any more meaningful than saying “I do” in your very own backyard?! I know this day was not what they were envisioning a year ago. It was better. And I cannot wait to still capture and celebrate their big reception and celebration with the entirety of their family and friends. This wedding day was a Midwest Autumn dream. The leaves were a perfect orange and it was right before they all fell. Marc & Kelsey were cool, calm, and collected despite the rain that poured from beginning to end. These two are the most perfect example of how romantic and beautiful a rainy wedding day can be if you’re willing to embrace it! The Danada House is also a perfect example of how perfect a rainy day can be there. We used their awning and porch for almost all of their portraits and grabbed a few umbrellas for more by the trees. It was just perfect and such a dream to have gotten to spend it with these two kind souls. Their entire day was a joy and smooth sailing thanks to Bethany Moore Events.

This truly was a treasure of a day! Susie & Andrew tied the knot on a blustery March day just a little over a year ago. They decided on an intimate ceremony and reception surrounded by their very closest loved ones at the fabulous Maxwell Mansion in the heart of Lake Geneva, WI. To quote the words from Susie: “Our officiant, Patrice, is a close family friend who has cut Susie's hair since age of 5. We call her aunt, and she exudes the spirit of Jesus in love, kindness, and charity. We couldn't think of anyone better to officiate our wedding.” It truly doesn’t get any sweeter than that. This day was meaningful from beginning to end. The Mansion was a perfect setting for their 1920’s Art Deco & Speak Easy vibes and there is inspiration from every inch of this day. We were so blessed to have gotten to be a part of this classically elegant and sophisticated wedding day. Nate & Kristin have the kindest and most endearing hearts. Every moment of the day was focused on their love for one another and their families. It was obvious where their kindness stems from after we met their loved ones. Their first look was one for the books, as they made a last minute location change and kept the day simple by opting for a first look and portraits at their beautiful venue so we could beat the rain. I truly believe everything happens for a reason and that rain can make a day even more special. This day is proof of that! What an absolute delight and joy of a day to relive all over again. It was the dose of sunshine, vitamin D, and joy that I needed on Quarantine Day 467. That bright sunshine, yellows and soft blues, an insanely fun bridal party, and such a kind and fun loving couples left us with hearts full. Dan and Mica are the real deal. Not only was it a treat to just get to be with them all day, but it was also a treat to capture their authenticity. Every part of the day was centered on enjoying their loved ones, dear friends, and each other. They are DEEPLY loved and it was so easy to see why. Every part of the day, beginning to end, took place in one of our all time favorite places in this area. Geneva National is a treasure. I remember our very first meeting with Kerry & John like it was yesterday. Kerry had a vision and a plan for her wedding day that made us clap and jump up and down and get so excited we were ready to capture it then and there. It wasn’t necessarily her vision in the lush florals and color scheme (don’t get me wrong, I was swooning over that too) but, it was her passion for her family and the way she wanted to honor her beautiful parents and give so much meaning, tradition, and sacredness to their first look and ceremony. That is why they had chosen the gorgeous Rosary Chapel at Dominican University to begin their marriage story. Kerry’s parents were also married in this chapel and it was so important for Kerry to honor that tradition for their own beginning. Kerry & John’s first look and portraits were also captured in the exact locations where her parents’ photos were captured as well. It was such a meaningful tradition and a complete honor to have captured these two beautiful souls there where it all started. Can we also just tip our hats to the gorgeous and such florals by Avant Gardenia and celebrate the gorgeous space at the Westin O’Hare?! Their staff was such a treat to work alongside and we couldn’t sing higher praise.

As I relived this glorious wedding day at The Haight in downtown Elgin, IL, I cannot help but remember the steam that was literally rising off the pavement as we parked our car and began to settle our gear. It was one of those days where our lenses would fog if we went back and forth between outdoors and the air conditioning. If you are a fellow Wedding Photog, I know you get what we mean. But, despite the intense heat, I cannot help but smile as I remember this beautiful bride. Erin is as lovely as they come. Like one of those brides who you can’t help but need to pinch yourself because they chose you. She was joyful, calm, and filled with love for every human who was a part of this beautiful day. And her fireman, Ryan was equally as lovely! It was such a treat to personalize their portraits with a stop at the old Elgin Fire Station. These two were surrounded by pure love, celebration, and laughter from begging to end. We are over the moon for these two and their day. And we’ve found a new local venue to whom we cannot sing higher praise. Thank you to the lovely staff at The Haight for making it such a pleasure as well! Eric and Hajar, this warm Chicago summer, Lincoln Park, Lake Michigan, and all the sweet laughter were pure bliss. This day was such a treat to relive as I sit here and watch the snow outside our window. We are so looking forward to capturing these two lovely humans and their Chicago wedding this upcoming year. If they were this happy and lovely together at their engagement session, we cannot even imagine how incredible it will be to capture their wedding day! 2020 is going to be one for the books.
Eric and Hajar, this warm Chicago summer, Lincoln Park, Lake Michigan, and all the sweet laughter were pure bliss. This day was such a treat to relive as I sit here and watch the snow outside our window. We are so looking forward to capturing these two lovely humans and their Chicago wedding this upcoming year. If they were this happy and lovely together at their engagement session, we cannot even imagine how incredible it will be to capture their wedding day! 2020 is going to be one for the books.

Tim & Caitlin are absolutely perfect for each other. They are kind, soft spoken, thoughtful, and so beautifully organized and calm. As we walked into their hotel to start the day, the rain drops started to fall. Rain is never a problem if you’re up for it, but when we got upstairs, Caitlin already have a variety of rain options on her favorites list. Honestly, in this case, the rain worked out for the best! Her florals and colors paired perfectly with the tropical greens of the Lincoln Park Conservatory and the beautiful Presbyterian Church on Michigan Avenue. (We LOVE the city for its rain options.) Caitlin’s color palette of bright and pale pinks were such a treat! …especially captured in the green house! Flowers for Dreams never disappoint with their lush bouquets and ceremony awnings! Also, we may have fallen in love with a city venue that we had never captured until this year! Loft Lucia for the WIN! It’s intimate and the rooftop cocktail hour terrace makes for the loveliest end of the night sparkler send off photos! This day was beautifully planned between Caitlin, Tim, and Bethany Moore Events (massive shoutout for this team!) Reliving this day gave me the warm fuzzies
