2021 Mini Sessions
Each year we look forward to seeing past couples and their growing families, as well as meeting amazing new couples and families for our annual mini sessions! Usually, we are trying to squeeze these sessions in at the last moment since weddings have been our main focus for the last 9 years. 2020 has given us a new perspective and appreciation for family and lifestyle photography. It’s such a privilege to capture your family, whether its a family of two or ten, toddlers or fur babies, and we can’t wait to see you again!
This year we have planned four Mini Session weekends for 2021 available for booking depending on the season you are most interested. These weekends are reserved on a first come, first serve basis and you can reserve your date and time below.

It’s been such an incredible year of meeting new families, couples, and babies! 2020 was not what we expected, but in some ways, it was better than we expected. Life keeps moving forward. Not even a pandemic can stop babies from being born. And not even a pandemic can stifle the joy of welcoming your first born and relishing those first couple of weeks as new parents. It’s the best. And the Skalkos Family is one of the loveliest around. It was such a treat to capture Baby Charlie and his incredible parents Sarah & Thomas. I’m not typically a morning person, but I will jump at the chance to capture a sunrise engagement session on Lake Michigan in Chicago! It was such a treat to relive Jenny & Steve’s warm engagement session from this summer. They were so much fun to meet up with and their ensembles were perfectly on point. It’s official. We are head over heels for intimate backyard weddings. Becca & Peter are incredible. There was nothing that was going to stop these two from getting married and the joy was more beautiful than words can describe. Nothing can stop true love, friends. It was such a treat to capture these two beautiful souls and their closest family members and friends. And does it get any more meaningful than saying “I do” in your very own backyard?! I know this day was not what they were envisioning a year ago. It was better. And I cannot wait to still capture and celebrate their big reception and celebration with the entirety of their family and friends. Becca and Peter, thank you for the honor of getting to be a part of this perfect day. You two are the real deal. And we can’t wait to continue this party later on!

This wedding day was a Midwest Autumn dream. The leaves were a perfect orange and it was right before they all fell. Marc & Kelsey were cool, calm, and collected despite the rain that poured from beginning to end. These two are the most perfect example of how romantic and beautiful a rainy wedding day can be if you’re willing to embrace it! The Danada House is also a perfect example of how perfect a rainy day can be there. We used their awning and porch for almost all of their portraits and grabbed a few umbrellas for more by the trees. It was just perfect and such a dream to have gotten to spend it with these two kind souls. Their entire day was a joy and smooth sailing thanks to Bethany Moore Events.

This truly was a treasure of a day! Susie & Andrew tied the knot on a blustery March day just a little over a year ago. They decided on an intimate ceremony and reception surrounded by their very closest loved ones at the fabulous Maxwell Mansion in the heart of Lake Geneva, WI. To quote the words from Susie: “Our officiant, Patrice, is a close family friend who has cut Susie's hair since age of 5. We call her aunt, and she exudes the spirit of Jesus in love, kindness, and charity. We couldn't think of anyone better to officiate our wedding.” It truly doesn’t get any sweeter than that. This day was meaningful from beginning to end. The Mansion was a perfect setting for their 1920’s Art Deco & Speak Easy vibes and there is inspiration from every inch of this day. It was such a joy to have been a part of this celebration and such an honor to work alongside the loveliest vendor friends. Thank you, Susie & Andrew, for the honor!

I don’t think we’ll be able to get over this day for a long time. Nate & Kristin planned their beautiful North Shore Country Club wedding all the way from California so they could celebrate in Kristin’s childhood stomping grounds. We were so blessed to have gotten to be a part of this classically elegant and sophisticated wedding day. Nate & Kristin have the kindest and most endearing hearts. Every moment of the day was focused on their love for one another and their families. It was obvious where their kindness stems from after we met their loved ones. Their first look was one for the books, as they made a last minute location change and kept the day simple by opting for a first look and portraits at their beautiful venue so we could beat the rain. I truly believe everything happens for a reason and that rain can make a day even more special. This day is proof of that! To Nate & Kristin, we’re so beyond overjoyed to have been a part of your team. May your marriage forever be as lovely and beautiful as this day was. Thanks you for sending us home with hearts full.

What an absolute delight and joy of a day to relive all over again. It was the dose of sunshine, vitamin D, and joy that I needed on Quarantine Day 467. That bright sunshine, yellows and soft blues, an insanely fun bridal party, and such a kind and fun loving couples left us with hearts full. Dan and Mica are the real deal. Not only was it a treat to just get to be with them all day, but it was also a treat to capture their authenticity. Every part of the day was centered on enjoying their loved ones, dear friends, and each other. They are DEEPLY loved and it was so easy to see why. Every part of the day, beginning to end, took place in one of our all time favorite places in this area. Geneva National is a treasure. We’re so thankful for the gift it was to capture this day and we’re so excited to finally share more!

The most perfect spring wedding day. The trees were showing off and in full bloom for Kim & Thad’s Rockford wedding. They were almost as beautiful and lovely as Kim. What a joy of a day to get to be a part of!

What a joy of a day to get to be a part of! We have a new found love for early spring weddings after this year. What truly made this day was the sweetness of these two and their families and friends. Kim is one of those people who is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. There are certain weddings that make me feel happy and peaceful as I relive it for our blog and this is one of them. Days surrounded by kind families, kind vendors, classic elegance, and a well planned timeline are our version of heaven. Kim’s natural color palette were a treat for our cameras. Creams, greens, and touches of natural lavender made us swoon. And let’s not even get us started on how much we adore shooting at the Rockford Bank & Trust Pavilion. Perfection. Absolute perfection. Kim & Thad, you guys are a dream. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for entrusting this incredible celebration with us!
